It's highly recommended to use the default settings
Run ffdatafactorysetup.exe as an administrator and follow the installation procedure.
ATTENTION! Running FF Data Factory Installation on behalf of the Administrator is a mandatory condition for correct installation.
Windows may require you to confirm your action. Click “More info” or a similar prompt and confirm by pressing the “Run anyway” button. Please read and accept the End-user license agreement to perform the installation
Specify the path to install the software (for the first installation).
Specify PostgreSQL database connection settings
(It is recommended to set the password to "postgres")
You can also Test the connection if PostgreSQL is already installed
Specify the web port for the URL where the FF Data Factory will be hosted.
The default port is 5001. If you are using SSL in your Milestone XProtect System then also enable this function by putting a tick in “Use https”.
Set up ports for the internal processing engine.
It is recommended to change them only if default ports values are already occupied
If some of the ports are already occupied you will get the appropriate message by clicking the “Next” button. For example:
In this case, please specify other ports in this step of FFDF installation, or free them from other applications and continue with the installation.
At this step, you need to specify the Data Factory version which you want to install - VMS or Stand Alone.
The VMS version is designed to work with the Milestone XProtect Client and Wisenet Wave (limited operation).
Stand Alone version allows you to use FF Data Factory as a backend for ANPR cameras with FF’s apps without VMS.
Specify SuperAdmin credentials (It is recommended to use the password DF@dmin!)
Please note that event screenshots will be stored in the same directory.
With a large data stream, hard disk space can run out very quickly. Therefore, we recommend installing the Software on a hard disk with a storage capacity of more than 500 GB.
Select Start Menu Folder and press the “Next” button:
During the first FF Data Factory installation it is needed to install the PostgreSQL database.
In this step, the PostgreSQL installer will be downloaded and run automatically.
Press the “Next” button and follow up standard PostgresSQL installation procedure.
Specify the folder to install a database or use the default value. Click the Next button to continue.
Select components to install or use the default value. Click the “Next” button to continue.
ATTENTION! The PostgresSQL Server component is required for installation.
Stack Builder component is not necessary for the FF DataFactory web application and can be unchecked during the installation process. Specify a folder to store data or use the default values. Click the “Next” button to continue.
During the first installation a user account is created for PostgreSQL operation. The username for this account is "postgres."
In this step, please set the password for the postgres superuser to postgres
Select the port number the Postgres server should listen on and press the “Next” button.
The default port is 5432.
Skip the next step with Advanced Options by clicking on the “Next” button.
It is essential to review the Pre-installation Summary information. This summary provides an overview of the configuration settings and options chosen during the installation process. Please take a moment to verify that all the information displayed is correct.
If you need to make any changes, you can go back to the previous steps by clicking on the "Back" button. This will allow you to modify the settings as needed. Once you have confirmed that all the information is accurate and no further changes are required, you can proceed with the installation procedure by clicking on the "Next" button.
Now installation is in progress. Please wait until the installation is complete.
Finally, the database installation was completed. Click on the “Finish” button to go further.
Please wait until the FF Data Factory installation will be completed.
And now please finish the installation by clicking on the “Finish” button.
Congratulations on successfully completing the installation of FF Data Factory! After the installation process is finished, you will find an icon named "FF Data Factory" on your desktop. To open the application, simply double-click on the icon.
Alternatively, you can access the FF Data Factory by entering the following link in any web browser:
http://localhost:5001/ (default).
To log in to the FF Data Factory, please use the SuperAdmin username and password. The previously recommended username is "df-admin," and the password is "DF@dmin!".
Once logged in, you will have access to the FF Data Factory and its features. Enjoy using the application for your data management needs!
