Local configuration

In case NumberOk and the database are installed on the same PC we recommend keeping all database parameters without any changes.
It is necessary to tick ’Set up the FireBird server’

Client-server configuration

To set up an access control and access management system for a territory with several checkpoints with a single informational base

NumberOk client-server configuration is preferred, which provides for server-based Firebird DB installation on a dedicated PC.
Client NumberOk instances access to the DB can be arranged via regular data networks.

Such approach benefits are obvious as NumberOk installation at each checkpoint are using the same data set.

Accordingly, any changes actualisation and synchronisation within this database is happening at client checkpoints automatically.
Thus, all accumulated information analysis is centralised and can be done remotely (with no need to visit each and every checkpoint).
External applications also have an access to all data amendments (i.e. lists of all allowed vehicles) and able to copy those remotely.

Server SW installation

To create NumberOk SMB network infrastructure it is necessary to install one NumberOk instance in a server configuration.

Choose Firebird and tick Install Firebird server in the database parameter settings window.
